CHICAGO

Troy and I recently spent a couple of days in Chicago. We like to go about every 2 months and get away from the pressure and stress of life. A few months ago, we were supposed to take the Architecture Tour but it was rained out. This time, we went and had a jolly good time! For some reason, I cannot find my little widget to download the pictures from my camera...soooo...this lame pic from my cell phone will have to do for now. I have taken many trips to Chicago in my life, however, I have never quite seen it from this perspective. I must say, I love this city even more!!! I hope to post some more pictures soon. The boat tour is exquisite! We rode out into Lake Michigan, and then up and down the Chicago River, listening to Reggae, Michael Jackson, and other favorites from the past.

During this trip, we also went to the Halsted Street Market Daze. What a blast that was!! Halsted Street is closed off for many blocks and everywhere you look...FUN!! We ate at the Chicago Diner and then walked the fair.

Flowers

These pretty flowers came from several of my gardens around my home. Everyday there is something pretty, and it makes me smile. The people who built this house were retired and spent everyday lovingly tending to their gardens. Troy and I have not done them justice, but I do say a little thank you to these dear folks for their brilliant design. They planned for something to bloom every week from April to September. The mums are starting to bloom...

Everyone needs a duck friend!

This guy...not so cute...

My new friend from the zoo. He saw Mackenzie eating french fries and it got his attention.

I love books. Anyone who knows me, knows I have a sickness over books! I have hundreds, if not thousands, in my personal library. As well as pictures making me happy, I am going to start adding books to this site as well. I want to start with the book above...Henry "Box" Brown was a slave who devised a brilliant way to free himself...mail himself to freedom! This book is very gut-wrenching and inspiring. Check it out!
